The Johnsons are inviting everyone to come out to "P-L-A-Y" on Saturday, September 24th. We'll all be meeting at the Mt. Juliet Cracker Barrel (I-40, Exit 226) at 7:30AM (6:30AM for Breakfast). There'll be a short driver's meeting before heading out at 7:45AM with a light breakfast, a topped off tank and empty bladder and we'll jump on U.S.70 North all the way to Crossville TN. Greg has two rest stops planned along the way.
Around 11:30AM, we'll be stopping by theBeef & Barrel at 1112 West Ave. in Crossville, TN for lunch. Sorry they do not have a web site but come highly recommended with medium priced selections.
Following lunch we'll scoot over to the Stonehaus Winery at 2444 Genesis Road www.stonehauswinery.com sample some of their award winning wines. They specialize in sparkling wines, including Peach & Muscatine. You are sure to find one to enjoy.
The Johnsons will then escort us a short distance to the Cumberland County Playhouse,www.ccplayhouse.com/, (931) 484-5000 at 221 Tennessee Avenue, where we'll have the opportunity to enjoy the ensemble's latest presentation of Chicago beginning at 2:30PM.

Chicago is a riveting, ironic, tongue-in-cheek tale of fame and fortune, glitz and glamour…and all that jazz. It’s a touch bawdy, a bit rowdy with songs and showgirls, tommy guns, top tunes and fast, flashy dancin’. It’s “killer” vaudeville with vavavooom—and funny ! If this Chicago is your very first time, or an old favorite, if the movie grabbed you and you want it live, don’t miss the magic—Chicago always delivers. It’s city slickers, red hot mamas, small town guys in deep city trouble.
Greg & Marilyn have snagged a group discount of $24.00 each. Be sure and send your check, made out to Greg Johnson, to: 705 Glasgow Place in Brentwood TN 37027. The cut off for seating with the group and group pricing is September 17th so get your reservations in now. Your tickets will be available when we check in at the box office on the 24th. Greg is planning on popping a couple of corks at the Playhouse for a toast before we enter the theater at 2:30PM. So, if you have a favorite wine glass, you might bring it along.
Following the play, at around 5:30PM everyone will move on to a nice restaurant, Fortes on the Squarehttp://www.fortesonthesquare.com at 27 East 4th Street (Southeast corner of Courthouse Square) in Cookeville for dinner around 6:00PM. Check out their menu. They have a rep among the locals of having a good variety of quality food at a reasonable price. Following dinner, the Johnson's will escort us home to middle Tennessee, with an ETA around 9:30 PM.
This promises to be a civilized and very enjoyable outing. And, if you haven't been to a play in some time, or you have never attended the Cumberland County Playhouse, you are in for a 'bodacious' treat.
So, come Join the Fun. RSVP to the Johnsons at greg@imagerygroup.net or 615-714-4530.
