MCMC Whitewater Adventure

Come beat the heat and cap off our last Summer 2011 outing in whitewater rafting country down along the beautiful Ocoee
River.Gregg and Chere’ Mikos have planned a grand tour through the mountains of southeast Tennessee that has something special for everyone.For the adventurous there will be a Guided Whitewater Rafting Trip down the Picturesque Ocoee
River, sight of the 1996 Olympics.For the adventurous, who would prefer to stay dry, a zipline tour through the beautiful forest canopy is available.For the not-so-adventurous there are plenty of scenic viewing areas along the Ocoee to watch the rafters shoot the rapids.For the spirited, the Mikos’ have planned a drive on Sunday through the mountains, full of both exhilarating twisties and relaxing scenic vistas.
We’ll take off (following a lite breakfast) at 7:00AM on Saturday, September 10th from Shoney's at 1950 South Church Street (I-24 Exit 81B) on the I-24 super-slab to Ocoee
TN.We will have lunch at 11:30 EDT at the Ocoee Gondolier at 1603 Highway 64 in Benton TN. Following lunch we will have a short drive to our whitewater guide and outfitter, Ocoee Outdoors http://www.ocoeeoutdoors.com/at 1085 Old Copper Road in Benton TN. They’re Tennessee’s number one outfitter since 1977.They will provide all necessary equipment, training and guides for the price of $38 per person. Please print & complete the Consent Form, attachment above and sign for each rafting participant and send/include with payment forwarded to Gregg.
Their sister company, Ocoee Zipz http://www.ocoeezipz.com/, has seven spectacular ziplines, over 6000 feet of adrenaline pumping fun and zipline trips lasting over two hours.The cost to zipline is $39 per person.Following our afternoon of fun we will check in at the nearby Ocoee Whitewater Inn http://ocoeewhitewaterinn.com/ at 120 Whitewater Drive in Ocoee TN.After showering and changing clothes, we will head over to the Mikos favorite Greek restaurant, The Acropolis,

On Sunday, following a lite breakfast, we'll depart the Whitewater Inn at 9:00AM EDT. Gregg and Chere’ have planned a ride through the mountains with panoramas sure to impress and twistees guaranteed to put the ZOOM in your “zoom zoom”.We will head out fromthe hotel and take a spirited jaunt up to the top of Chilhowee
Mountain to take in the spectacular view of the Ocoee
Valley and surrounding mountains.We will then depart north up the “Baby Dragon”, Hwy 30, passing through the quaint towns of Etowah, Athens, and Decatur.In Dayton TN, we will pick up U.S. 27 to Hwy 111, which will take us into Dunlap where we'll have lunch at the Cookie Jar Café http://www.johnsonfamilyfarm.com/cjc.htm. Following lunch we will take U.S. 127 to Signal
Mountain, coming down the mountain on the infamous “W” road.At the bottom of the mountain we will pick up U.S. 27 to take us up and over Suck
Creek
Mountain and ultimately leading us to I-24 for our return to Nashville in time for dinner.
Reservations for both the hotel and rafting trip will need to be confirmed by August 26th.Please pay the Mikos’ for the Rafting trip with cash or check (made out to Gregg Mikos in the amount of $38 each).
