Cookout  & Games on Old Hickory Lake

sponsored by Phil & Lois Matisak

Post-Olympic Wii Games Commence on Oct. 25

It's not the Olympics, and it's not Beijing, but the air is clean and no one will question if you're old enough to compete.

The opening ceremonies for the Old Hickory Wii Games will begin at 2 p.m. at 100 Oaks Mall from which the Wii Flame will be carried by MX5s across the country(side) as crowds cheer on their favorite colors along the way. Participants will enjoy a scenic Fall ride out to the shores of Old Hickory Lake to the Matisak's home -- the site of this year's Wii Games.

Competitors and fans alike will partake in a pre-games cookout beginning about 4 p.m. with ribs, chicken (provided by Famous Dave’s), and beer and sodas provided for approximately $8 per person donation (depending on # attending) to the Wii Games International Committee. Bring a side dish to share and any other beverage-of-choice you might prefer.  And don’t forget your chairs-in-a-bag!!

Weather permitting, the Matisak's new heated pool will be available for relaxing in and/or around. And of course, this gathering would not be complete without the tossing around of some discarded equestrian footwear. The annual horseshoe championship will test the "staying power" of the reigning two-year champions -- Jimmy Todd and Phil Matisak. Otherwise, there will be a Wii game or yard game for everyone, whether it be bowling, boxing, golfing or batting. Come test your skills and enjoy a great Fall afternoon -- and enjoy the colors on the lake with your friends!

Please RSVP to the Wii Games Committee, AKA Phil & Lois by Oct. 19 at lois.matisak@comcast.net or call us at 773-8417.

(Please note: The Wii Games International Committee does not condone any political demonstrations, except appropriate national anthems, such as Dixie, at anytime during the games.)
