MCMC, Let's Do A Rally
Sponsored by Dave & Barbara Williams
Ever so often, the Music City Miata Club has the opportunity to participate in a honest to goodness Road Rally. The frequency is not due to lack of interest. But they do take a level of knowledge, experience, preparation and coordination not required by most club events.
David Williams is a member of the Tri-Lakes Sports Car Club in Tullahoma, TN, and, we have had an invitation extended through the Williams to participate in this year's Fall Rally. The Rally begins and ends in Bell Buckle, TN. Rally Master Charles Cooke says that this is a really good rally for beginners, with simple and easy to follow instructions. You are strongly urged to bring a navigator along for the run. Registration is from 9 - 10 a.m., and we plan on getting there early to go over basic rally rules and instructions for those new to a rally and for old timers with short memories.
There is a $20 registration fee per car (which helps cover insurance cost and also includes the Auto Cross that you can attend at Motlow University in Tullahoma on Sunday the 13th). Charles Cooke says he is also expecting several Miatas from the Rocket City Miata club in Huntsville, AL.
We will meet up at the Cracker Barrel in Murfreesboro at I-24, exit 81B and depart for Bell Buckle at 8:30 a.m. sharp. Those who plan to have breakfast should arrive at 7:30 a.m.. There will be a mid-point pit stop during the rally, with the opportunity for a short snack. After the rally, we will take time to browse around Bell buckle a bit, then we will finish the day by heading to Granny Fishes House www.grannyfisheshouse.com/ (just outside of Shelbyville) for the best hush puppies, catfish, steaks, chicken, shrimp, etc. in the area.
The Williams know you will enjoy this event, whether this is your first rally, or your tenth. So please let David & Barbara know if you will be joining them for the Tri-Lakes Fall Rally by Email bkwms48@localnet.com OR (615) 347-4988.
