March 19
49th Annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration
 - Sponsored by the Schultz

Deb Parker, the Official Club Leprechaun is unable to make it this year. So the O'Schultz family is inviting you to join them in Erin on the 19th of March for a little Irish mischief, some shenanigans, a whole lot of Irish blarney, as we help the sleepy little Hamlet of Green with it's 49th annual parade and celebration of Saint Patrick's Day.  The parade route is usually lined with 10K to 15K of smiling people.  The celebration is billed as the largest south of Chicago.

We will meet at the I-40 and Charlotte Pike Exit 201 Cracker Barrel.  For those who want Breakfast, plan on arriving at 0700, we will be pulling out for Erin at 0800. This will give us plenty of Time to stop in route to Erin for a potty break. We will be taking scenic back roads along the Cumberland River, and then route 49 to Erin. Make Sure you have a Full Tank of Gas and your radios with fresh batteries.

This should place us at the staging location for the Parade at 1000 and give us plenty of time to decorate our cars for the parade.  The club will supply green and white helium filled balloons, and we encourage you to use creative imagination with the rest of your decorations (garlands, four leaf clovers, leprechauns, dragons etc) in a deluge of bright Green.

The club will also be broadcasting up tempo Celtic music along the parade route, and Erin does encourage you to toss as much candy as you can afford and get in your car along with the decorations. If you do bring candy we suggest at least 15 pounds so you don't run out before the center of town. Regardless bring plenty of Irish Spirit and wear the Green (whether Irish or Not).
The parade begins at 1100.

After the parade we will have lunch at the Southernaire Restaurant.  Their menu ranges from cold plates and salads, numerous sandwiches, and full course dinners.  They also have an outstanding buffet which includes catfish, chicken and a wide variety of drinks, salad items and deserts.

After lunch you are free to return to Erin for the festivities, head home or make a quick little loop of the Rattlesnake, 79 into Dover and 49 back along the river to Erin and home from there.

We would like commitments for the trip and parade by March 14th so the Southernaire can be ready for our group.
RSVP to Mike-n-Gail by the 14th of March at nbfam123@charter.net; MikeSchultz47@hotmail.com  OR (931) 206-0896.
