46th ANNUAL ST. PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION

SPONSORED BY DEB PARKER

Deb Parker, the Official Music City Miata Club Leprechaun, is inviting you to join her in Erin on the 15th of March for a little Irish mischief, and a whole lot of Irish blarney, as we help the sleepy little Hamlet of Green with its 46th annual parade & celebration of Saint Patrick's Day. The parade route is usually lined with 8K to 12K smiling people. The Celebration is billed as the largest south of Chicago. And Deb is looking for any excuse to show off her brand new 2008 Miata to a large crowd.

The annual Parade outing is on Saturday the 15th, and NO, it doesn't fall on Saint Patrick's Day this year.

We will meet at the I-40W and Charlotte Pike Exit 201 Cracker Barrel, exit to the right off of I-40 and to the right at the bottom of the ramp, then an immediate left into the C.B. For those of you who want breakfast, plan on arriving at 7:00AM. For you sleepy heads, Deb will be pulling out for Erin at 8:00AM. This will give us plenty of time to stop once or twice in route to Erin for potty breaks as needed. We will be taking a scenic backroads route along the Cumberland River north, and then Route 49 west, which is a fairly twisty road. Deb will provide printed instructions at the C.B.

This should place us at the staging location for the Parade at 10:00AM and give us plenty of time to decorate our cars for the parade. As usual, the club will supply green & white helium filled balloons for your cars. And we encourage you use creative imagination with the rest of your embellishment (garland, four leaf clovers, leprechauns, dragons) in a deluge of bright GREEN.

The club will also be broadcasting synchronized upbeat Celtic music from our cars along the route. AND Erin does encourage you to toss as much candy as you can afford AND get in your little car (along with the decorations) all along the parade route. If you decide to bring candy and don't want to run out before we get to the center of town, we recommend bringing between 8 & 12 #'s. And Deb requests that you bring plenty of Irish Spirit & Wear The Green (whether Irish or Not). The Parade begins at 11:00AM.

Then after the parade, we will have lunch at the Beacon Light Tea Room. The Beacon Light is included in DixieDining.com as one of the best for southern style food in the southeast. Some of our clubmembers can vouch for that. It is located on Highway 100 in Bon Aqua, TN with a regular menu consisting of lunches & dinners such as Center Cut Country Ham, Country Ham on 4 Biscuits, Fried Chicken, Steak, Shrimp, etc. plus Appetizers, Salads and Sandwiches. The most expensive item on the menu is $14.95 which is the 12oz. New York Strip Steak with their special seasonings. The dinners come with Biscuits & Preserves and Choice of 2 Vegetables.  Any item on the menu can be ordered when we get there, including Breakfast.

Deb is asking for commitments for the trip & the parade by March 14th, so the Beacon Light can be ready for our group. So plan on contacting Deb Parker at debparker99@comcast.net OR (615) 325-3444 by March 13th.

This is a great opportunity to get out, shake off the cobwebs and enjoy the very tip of Springtime in Tennessee. Remember, there are only 18 Days, 5 Hours, 4 Minutes & 20 Seconds until Irish Day in Erin TN.
