MCMC CRUISE & DINNER at the BRICKYARD
Sponsored by the Provenchers

The Nashville Tennessean published a Special Holiday Life Section on Sunday December 15th of 2002. The Headline referred to six restaurants worth the extra effort it takes to get there. The Restaurants were as follows: High Point, the house that Capone built in Monteagle TN; Patti's 1880's Settlement in Grand Rivers KY; Riverfront Plantation on the Cumberland in Dover TN; Halcyon Days Restaurant & Lounge in Crossville TN; the Foglight Foodhouse in Walling TN; AND the Brickyard Cafe in Bowling Green KY.

So far the Music City Miata Club has been to Patti's (3) times, the Riverfront & Halcyon once each and the Foglight twice. The next one on our Bucket List is the Brickyard Cafe. And it promises to be just as good, as all the ones in our rear view mirror. The Provenchers will be picking out some outstanding backroads between Nashville and central Kentucky, with just enough asphalt to work up a real good appetite.

The Brickyard Cafe is located in the Coolidge Hill Historic District just a few blocks from downtown Bowling Green. It is a gem in a residential area of old brick and stone bungalows. The Brickyard itself is located at 1026 Chestnut Street in a two-story, 145-year-old house that was once a residence & parsonage. The 10-year-old Cafe is owned & operated by Robert Stupar, a native of Croatia, and Zeljko Simic, a Bosnia native. And they brought the Italian influenced fare of the Baltic region to Bowling Green KY.

So if you crave ambience (delicately lit by candles & hanging lanterns) & elegant homemade entrees, do plan on enjoying the cruise to the Brickyard (no pun intended). It's a spot for good friends to enjoy a great dinner. Their menu includes butternut squash soup, tilapia, Mediterranean salad, veal marsala & oh those 'purple taters'. We don't think you'll be disappointed. Come help the Provenchers celebrate the first day of the first month of Spring 2008.
