Run to the Perfect Pig & the Pink Cadillac Drive-In
- Sponsored by Gregg & Chere' Mikos

Once or twice each Summer, a Club member steps up and sponsors an outing which includes good food, back roads and an old-fashion Drive-In Movie.

WELL, first out of the chute in 2010, Gregg & Chere' Mikos will be taking the Club down memory lane to a couple of their favorite Summer hangouts. For our first Drive-In outing in 2010, the Mikos have selected Carl's Perfect Pig at 4992 Hwy 70 East in White Bluff TN (615-797-4020).

The Perfect Pig has a longstanding rep as one of the Premier Bar-B-Que Joints in Middle TN.  He features open-pit pulled pork and tender ribs, country fried catfish, southern veggies and great burgers. I don't know what his secret is, but the pork literally falls of the bones. And the flavor will knock your socks off. Carl's Menu is linked below for your purveyance, but the prices are subject to change. Gregg has made arrangements for plenty of overflow parking if we bring a bunch of Miatas. Carl will be expecting us and will seat us in his private dining room downstairs.

The Mikos would like to see your smiling faces at the BP station on Old Hickory Boulevard, one-quarter mile south of I-40 & Exit 199 at 629 Old Hickory Boulevard in Nashville at 2pm. They'll be pulling out promptly at 2:30pm to take some backroads through Bellevue, Pegram, Craggie Hope and Kingston Springs. Gregg has a good route picked out that should avoid most traffic, LEO's and provide some nice twisties. Some of these roads are currently closed due to flooding, but he's hopeful that, by the 19th of June, they will all be functional. If not, Gregg will alter our course accordingly.

We should arrive at the Perfect Pig between 4- 4:30pm, enjoy a nice meal and depart around 5:30 or 6:00pm. Gregg has more great roads back through Dickson, Burns, Fairview and into Hickman County. ETA at the Pink Cadillac Drive-In at 2506 Highway 100 in Centerville is around 8pm. They are currently showing IRON MAN 2, held over this week. Double features are standard. It's a classic 50's style Drive-In with FM transponder broadcasted sound. Gregg says the Concession Stand is well stocked, restrooms respectable and the admission is $7 per person.

We will arrive early enough to take up our usual position in the center of the back two rows, set up our Chairs-In-A-Bag, turn on a Boom Box (or two) and enjoy a nice late Spring evening with good friends and entertainment. Be sure and bring a portable radio (so we don't have to leave our car radios on), some bug spray and a light jacket/blanket for any cool air after dark.

The Mikos' would love to have you join them, possibly for your first old-fashioned Drive-In Movie in 35 or 45 years. And, with our tops down, there is no real danger of fogging up the windows. Just let the Mikos know you are coming by contacting Gregg (615-585-4198) or Chere' (615-585-0147) or by Email at TennMikos@comcast.net.
