General Jackson 4th of July Excursion

REMINDER ON THE GENERAL JACKSON 4TH of JULY EXCURSION

I need to firm up the reservations for the 4th of July Dinner & Fireworks Float on the General Jackson. All the details are shown below.

There will be a $10 per person fee to hold the reservation. Hold on to your money for now. I just need your commitment or re-commitment, so I can hold the correct # of reservations. Once you commit, cancellations & full refunds will be accepted as late as 30 days before the event.

So go ahead and let us know if you want to Join the Fun for the World Class Fireworks display in downtown Nashville on the Cumberland River on July the 4th.

I have some Good News and some Bad News, regarding the 4th of July Event on the G-Jack.

First, I want to apologize to ALL, in advance. Several weeks ago, when I initially contacted the reservations office for the General Jackson (on two separate occasions), trying to confirm price and availability for the 7:00 PM Dinner Trip on the top deck to down town Nashville to view the Fireworks Celebration on 7/4/09, I was told that I could get up to 15 tickets at $40 each for the event. But, that if I wanted a greater # of reservations, and possibly a group discount, I needed to contact the Group manager for the G-Jack.

At that point, I put out the announcement to the Club, so I would know how many reservations to make, and to assure availability.

Subsequently, when I contacted the Group Manager, he apologized and informed me that I had been given bad information on both occasions, due to the fact that their computer had not been updated to reflect the 2009 prices for "Special Events", such as the Dinner Float on the 4th. He then informed me that the correct price should have been $79.95 per person, including the trip, an upgraded buffet dinner on the upper deck and the fireworks display at the Riverfront Park on the 4th. I caught my breath and bit my tongue, but not before I told him Gaylord was a "greedy" organization, and needed to join the "real world". He informed me that they would sell out the boat that night, whether we were on board or not.

So, here's the deal. If you have already indicated you wanted to go (for $40 each) and you still want to join the fun on the General Jackson for the 4th of July, PLEASE RECONFIRM your desire to (or not to) participate at $79.95 each.

We currently have reservations "held" on the top deck for (30) members. A small, fully-refundable deposit of $10 per person will hold your spot until July. Don't send me the money now. We'll take care of that later.

The Sands will be going. And we'd enjoy some company on the Upper Deck if you are still interested. If not, just let us know (615-794-0852 or graype@bellsouth.net) and we'll understand.

The list of (33) Members, who committed at $40 per person includes:

Here's your chance to give yourself a Fourth of July present for Christmas. Wow, do we have an opportunity for a unbeleivable River Adventure aboard the G Jack. We are in a position to snag some passages on board the General Jackson for their evening cruise on the 4th of July, 2009. The boat departs the Hotel at 7:00 PM and cruises down the Cumberland River to downtown Nashville where it ties up for a primo "up close & personal" view of the Annual Nashville Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza. You have the choice of Lower Deck tickets for $20 OR Upper Deck tickets with a Buffet Dinner served for $40.

I know it's still over 5 months till the cruise, but tickets are available and could be snatched up in a heartbeat by a big Corporate sponsor. So let me know if you want to cruise on the General Jackson on the 4th of 2009 in celebration of our Nation's 233rd Birthday, with one of the nation's most spectacular "Top Five" fireworks presentations. The boat returns to the Hotel at 10:00 PM, neatly avoiding the major traffic turmoil in Nashville, when over 100,000 people depart the Riverfront.

I'd like to make one purchase and can't guarantee how long the tickets will last. Would appreciate your interest & commitment before Christmas. Contact Gray at graype@bellsouth.net OR (615) 794-0852.

He who hesitates, may have to swim on the 4th.
