MCMC Huntsville Botanical Gardens Impromptu
- Sponsored by David & Barbara Williams

Dec 17 Huntsville Botanical Gardens and Living Christmas Tree David & Barbara Williams, our new MCMC First Family, are itching to make one more club run before we give up and garage our little cars for the winter.

Dave is inviting all of us to join he & Barbara for one more pre-Holiday fun run, as we hit the road to Huntsville, Alabama. Huntsville received it's name in 1805. Prior to that, it was called Twickenham. So the unofficial name of this event will be the "Twickenham Cruise."

We will meet @ the Franklin Cracker Barrel at 4210 Franklin Commons Court (I-65 south to Hwy 96, exit 65) parking lot at 10:30AM and depart the parking lot prior to 11:00AM. From the C.B. we will head to the Soda Pop Junction in Lynnville TN for a brief lunch and then take some scenic and twisty Miata roads through the hills of south central Tennessee & into northern Alabama.

We will cruise the streets of "Historic Twickenham", perhaps the most impressive collection of antebellum homes in the South, some dating back to 1814. We will then proceed to their favorite Tex-Mex restaurant, Rosie's Mexican Cantina. We love Rosie's chicken fajitas and sopapillas (we share the fajita for 1 so we will have room for the sopapillas); they do have a "north of the border" menu which includes items such as steak, chicken sandwiches, salad topped w/cold salmon etc. By now it will be dark and we can proceed to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens for the Galaxy of Lights Tour. In December the garden's roads are gleaming with animated Christmas lights. Weather permitting, we will drop the tops for the (2) plus mile parade through the lights. NOTE .... there is a $20.00 admission fee per vehicle for the gardens, there is a parking area as you enter the Space & Rocket Center entrance for any singles wanting to park & ride together to save on fee. This $20.00 fee enables the gardens to function all year long, as it is their biggest fund raising event of the year.

As we make our way home, you should all have visions of sugar plums dancing in your heads !

So, finish your Holiday chores early, or just take a break, and join the Williams, as they explore "Historic Twickenham" during the Twelve Days of Christmas 2011. RSVP to Barbara at bkwms48@localnet.com or B's Cell (615) 347-4988 or D's Cell (615) 347-2828.
