It's that special time of the year again when you grab your sweetie and ride off into the sunset for a getaway and a romantic dinner at a quaint little restaurant hidden in downtown Cookeville TN, to possibly share a bottle of wine, exchange a gift and get reconnected with your Honey. Mauricio's Italian Restaurant opened in Cookeville on May 15, 2002. Located at 232 North Peachtree Ave, it is on the west side of historic downtown Cookeville. The restaurant, formerly a residence, was built in 1910. It features hardwood floors, 15ft ceilings, and five fine dining rooms -- three with fireplaces. If you like good Italian food, old music from the 40's and 50's, and great atmosphere, you're in the right place. Dress is casual. And of course, the food is for real, with genuine Italian cuisine, soft music and a wonderful historical ambience all contributing to the experience. Appetizers include Calamari, Bruschetta & Caprese. Entrees include Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Mauricio, Chicken Melanese, Veal Parmesan, Veal Marsala, Veal Piccata, Filet Mignon, Italian sausage & Peppers, Seafood Mauricio, Lobster Ravioli & Shrimp Scampi.
The wine list is quite expansive for all tastes. Desserts are prepared in house. DO check out their Guest Book for patron feedback. It's fine dining at it's best.
We will be gathering at the Mount Juliet Cracker Barrel (I-40 at Exit 226A) at 1:00PM. A light lunch would be in order, with dinner planned for around 4:30pm. The Key's will lead us on the road at 1:30pm with some great backroads on the way to Cookeville. Be sure and have a topped of tank, an empty bladder & your FRS radios.
