Zoomin Down Memory Lane
- Sponsored by the Davis'
Judy and Vic Davis are inviting you to join them for a trip down memory lane thru the heart of Middle TN. This will be our final Drive-In outing of the year. And it promises to be special.
We'll begin the journey by leaving the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Franklin, Tennessee,4120 Franklin Commons Court (615 794 8195) at 3:00 PM. Don't eat there, as we will be eating an hour later at 4:00 PM after a late afternoon run thru a little Interstate and some great backroads down to Culeoka TN.
Holy
Smoke ! You've never been to Culeoka TN ? Well, it's about time. Cause Culeoka TN is home to a great little country restaurant that serves up some of the best country home cookin in Tennessee. And the
Campbell Station Country Store & Restaurant
(931) 987-0059 at 2800 Dodson Gap Road in Culleoka TN specializes in Fried Catfish and a great Hand-Cut Marinated Ribeye Steaks. These steaks are GOOOOOOOD! ! ! ! http://www.youtube.com/user/TNCrossroadsTV?feature=mhum#p/u/2/o0Remk7jlwM.
Because of time constraints, we will not have time to have dessert at the Soda Pop Junction in Lynnville so, knock yourself out on freshly baked pie, cake, etc at the Campbell Station Country Store. And be ready to leave by 5:45. When we leave Culleoka, we will drive thru Lynnville to take a quick look as we drive by the Train Museum (which closed at 4:00 while we were eating) and wave at the Soda Pop Junction, home of the second best milkshakes in Middle Tennessee.
From Lynnville, we will take some more cross country roads to the HI-WAY 50 Drive-Inhttp://www.hiway50drivein.net/ (931-270-6266) at 1584 Fayetteville Highway in Lewisburg TN. This will bring back a few images of steamed up car windows, speakers ripped from posts on the way out & fresh popcorn all in your floorboard. Admission is $6.00 per person and you can bring in snacks & beverages if you wish. We'll try to position our Miatas together for visibility & safety but we have to be there by 6:30 so we get first choice of spaces (that's why we couldn't stop in Lynnville for dessert !). Be sure and bring your chairs-in-a-bag, some bug spray, a Boom Box (for FM sound) and a light jacket for the Second Feature. We won't know the double feature movies till next week, but we are guaranteed to have a good time ! ! !
SO, RSVP to Vic Davis at vjdav4@att.net or 615-370-3308, if you want to join this old fashioned late summer outing. |
