April 4

 War, Wine & Vittles

Sponsored by the Provenchers

Chris & Lori would like to introduce you to some of their favorite places on

 the Cumberland Plateau.

We are headed to Crossville TN on Saturday, April 4 to catch Shenandoah at the Cumberland County Playhouse, a Broadway Musical about the Civil War in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, fought by neighbors & guerrillas, not just armies.

This is a stirring musical of valor & patriotism, of honor & conscience, war & peace as experienced by a farm family in the beautiful valley in Virginia. Tickets for the play are $21. We have a block of (24) seats reserved for the 2:30 p.m. matinee performance. Performances at the Cumberland County Playhousehttp://www.ccplayhouse.com/ are usually a cut above other venues.

The block of reserved seats will expire March 21. If you will be joining us, YOU will need to call the Cumberland County Playhouse Box Office yourself at (931) 484-5000, and ask for "Reservations - Patron Hold" under the name of "Lori Provencher/Music City Miata Club." Indicate how many seats you would like to reserve, and pay for your seat(s) (in advance, by credit card) for the 2:30 p.m. matinee on April 4.

Remember, there is a "no refund" policy on reservations, but the ticket may be used at a later date, should you not be able to attend on April 4. Once the MCMC block of tickets expire, you can still join us for the play, but you run the risk of not being seated with the group, or, worse yet, not being able to get a ticket.

Following the play, at around 4:30 p.m., the group will travel across town to the Stonehaus Winery, 2444 Genesis Road, Crossville (I-40 @ Exit 320) (931) 484-9463, where you will have the opportunity to taste their fine wines from the dry Merlot, to the fruity Muscadine. We can make arrangements for a personally guided tour, if you wish. All aspects of the wine making process are covered from the history of Stonehaus, the grape growing, the crushing of grapes, the wine making process and the bottling process. Feel free to export o few bottles for medicinal purposes. http://www.stonehauswinery.com/index.html (10% discount coupon available on Website).

Finally, at around 6 p.m., the Provenchers will escort us next door to Halcyon Days Restaurant. Halcyon Days, 2444 Genesis Road, (931) 456-3663 is the perfect spot for a romantic candle light dinner with your special someone, or for a leisurely dinner with a bunch of close friends. Check out their Website & Menu at http://www.halcyondaysrestaurant.com/.

Following dinner, we'll return to Nashville on the slab, with an ETA of 9:30 p.m.

If you wish to have a late Breakfast with us, plan on arriving at the Mt. Juliet Cracker Barrel (I-40, Exit 226) on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.. Chris & Lori will be meeting us, and we'll be leaving for Crossville at 10:30 a.m.. They will allow plenty of time for a leisurely run across some outstanding Cumberland Plateau backroads on the way to Crossville. Plan on leaving with a full belly, a full tank, an empty bladder, and a fresh set of batteries in your FRS radio. We'll make one relief stop half way to Crossville.

This event is sponsored every couple of years, and has always proven a success. So make your mind up early. Make your reservation at the Playhouse, and let Chris & Lori know you are headed to see Shenandoah with them on April  4. They can be reached at Ltminch661@aol.com or (615) 758-0230 or (615) 719-1124.
