Jun 17 — Drive, Dine & Drive-in Movie

Sponsored by the Johnsons

Well movie fans it is that time again for a Drive, a Dine and a Drive in Movie event.  So let’s pack our chairs in a bag, our radios and get ready to drive on out. Hold the night, June 17th open for this event.

It may not be a law but our tradition dictates we will meet at the Cracker Barrel 2115 South Church, Murfreesboro, TN at 5:00 PM with this CB located just off Interstate 24 at exit 81B .  After a brief drivers meeting @ 5:15 PM, we will take off for an hour-plus of cruising some of our great middle Tennessee back roads.  We will be hitting some of our old favorites as well as a few new twistys, just to keep it interesting. You know I like the less traveled paths but promise to keep us off of gravel and any “big” pot holes.

We will end our roadway adventure in Woodbury Tennessee and return to DJ’s Pizza and Steak house. We should get there around about 6:15 PM. DJ’s has sold to new owners since our last visit but no worries.  The food is as great as ever and much of the same staff will be serving us.  Everything on the menu is excellent but Marilyn and I seldom get past the pizza.  Try it out for yourself or review the menu for other options HERE   Lot’s to choose from, yummy…

The Moonlight Drive-In  is a skip and hop from DJ’s.  This is a two screen drive in so you have a choice of movies and there will be a double feature on both screens on our Saturday night event. Most often we all decide to do the same movie so we stay together but you can choose either line-up of features. Unfortunately there is no screen switching. The drive in does not know what movies they will be showing until the Wednesday before but Dave, our event chairman, is counting on “Cars 3” to be on the list.  This movie is being released just before our visit so let’s see if he is right. But I would not bet against him.

Don’t forget your chairs in a bag, radio with spare batteries, some bug spray and perhaps a cover-up as it can get cold in the evening sitting outside.  No outside food is permitted without paying a separate fee but we will have just eaten and the Moonlight has a great indoor air conditioned snack bar. The movie is $8.00 per person.

Our trip home will be on your own so stay for one or both movies but please let Marilyn and Greg know you are coming so we have enough space for the dinner and movie.

Please RSVP by June 15th with Greg at greg@gregconnected.com or 615-714-4530. Last minute entries are welcome, just need general head count for our venue hosts.
