Let’s try something new for the 4th of July this year. Let’s give Lois time to heal fully and Phil, keep the ax sharp and the sticks pointy, we will be back soon to your place for the Great American Fourth of July Party.
For some time now watching the Nashville fireworks on the 4th of July has been on my bucket list items. It is supposed to be one of the biggest fireworks show in the USA. But standing in the massive crowds and putting up with the traffic jams both before and after, hunting down a parking place, not so much fun. There is however a great solution for this problem, The General Jackson River Boat Cruise!cLet the boat take us to the heart of the fireworks show.
The General Jackson leaves from Opry Mills for the evening cruse down the river boarding at 6:15pm and departs the dock at 7pm. We will have plenty of parking and minimum crowds. Include a full buffet dinner, deck side entertainment and great river viewing to keep us entertained as we travel to Nashville. There is some covered area on the Hurricane Deck that will fit most of the top deck passengers if the weather turns on us.
General Jackson Showboat is at 2812 Opryland Drive Nashville, TN 37214. The Jackson also hangs out in the river in Nashville for the best viewing of the fantastic fireworks show. Top deck is the best viewing and has been recommended by club members that have done this before. We get back at the dock around midnight, and we can drive home missing the huge traffic jams and hassle in Nashville.
Yes, it is a bit pricey at $92 per person, but it is a once in a lifetime event and you can get it off that dubious list. Sorry no group discounts as this is a sell out every year. FYI, there is inside seating and a family style dinner with stage show with reserved seating available for $97 each. Most of us will be topside for the better viewing. Lower deck passengers cannot go topside for the fireworks. As there is no reserved seating or group discounts for the Hurricane Deck tickets, so everyone can make their own reservations directly with the General Jackson.
Move fast if you are interested as they only had 50 tickets left as of this announcement. Bring your camera and your excitement; this should be a special event. When you get tickets please let me know so I can keep track. E mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call Greg Johnson at 615-714-4530.
