Two years ago Phil & Jan Serocki led our club to Amelia Island in early March to attend the Amelia Island Concours D’ Elegance. Again this year the Serocki’s have invited our club to attend this annual event. This Concours is among the top automotive events in the world and will draw over 250 rare vehicles from collections around the world to the beautiful golf course of the Ritz Carlton Hotel in northeast Florida.
This years honoree at the event will be Emerson Fittipaldi, a two time Formula I Champion as well as a two time winner of the Indy 500. They will have many of his race cars at this event. Also featured this year are the 1000+ horsepower IMSA GTP prototype cars from the 80’s and 90’s which ran the 24 hours at Daytona, Sebring 12 hours, Watkins Glen and around the world. Jaguar, Nissan, Toyota, Chevy, Ford, Mazda, BMW and Porsche all fielded GTP cars.
Famous and rare prewar MG’s will be featured as well. The original “Bullitt” Mustang movie car revealed at this years Detroit Auto Show will also be present. Of course there will Dusenbergs, Rolls Royce’s, Bentleys, V/16 Cadillac, Lincolns and other classic automotive examples from the 20’s and 30’s. So many rare and beautiful automotive treasures some of which are valued in the millions of dollars.
