Come join us for a fun run to the only surviving residence of James K. Polk other than the White House. This painted brick structure is one of the best examples of Federal-style architecture in Tennessee.
We will be gathering at 8:30 AM at the Cracker Barrel (2115 South Church, Murfreesboro, TN at I-24 Exit 81B) and leaving at 9:00 AM. The day will start with a ride through the countryside from Rutherford Co. through Williamson Co. ending in Maury Co. The 2 hour drive will include one rest stop for a snack and rest room break.
Arriving at James K. Polk Historical Home around 11:00 AM, our tour will last approximately 1 1/2 hrs. The cost of the tour is $5 per person (pay at the door)
After a tour of the home, we will go over to Columbia town square where we have reservations for lunch at Puckett’s at 1:30. (Pay for meal at restaurant) A private room will be waiting for the club. Trivia will be played on the days events and how much history we have gained about our state of Tennessee. (just for fun)
There is a great ice cream shop next door for an added treat; so we may wander over to Hattie Jane’s Creamery.
Before or after lunch if there is any free time, there are many great shops around the square for the men to go shopping. (ha ha)
Please contact Deb ASAP but no later than Friday, July 7th so restaurant reservation count can be confirmed.
